What to expect

Pickup in Tromsø
We pick you up at Sjøgata 5B and drive through beautiful Arctic scenery to Malangen.
Meet the reindeer
Step into the enclosure, feed the herd and capture wonderful photos.
Nikka Wilderness Camp
Gather in the lavvu for authentic Sami food prepared on the fire, with stories from the North.
Return to Tromsø
Back in the city after a full day of approx. 8 hours.

Description

Join us for a full-day trip to Malangen to meet reindeer and learn more about Sami culture and life in Northern Norway.

Visit a reindeer enclosure and meet the animals up close. You will learn about reindeer husbandry and how reindeer are part of Sami culture. The reindeer are still being socialised, so we cannot guarantee that they will eat directly from your hands. Food is placed in large feeding containers, and the reindeer come over to feed.

We then continue to Nikka Wilderness Camp, where you can warm up in the lavvu and enjoy a traditional Sami meal prepared over the fire. The day also includes stories about Sami culture and life in the North.
