What to expect

Departure from Tromsø city centre
Meet at Kaigata 2B and board our comfortable bus. The guides share the evening's aurora forecast and the plan for the chase.
Chasing clear skies
We drive through Arctic landscapes – fjords, frozen lakes and mountains – heading wherever the chances of clear skies are best.
Aurora stop with campfire
At the chosen viewing spot, enjoy warm drinks, snacks and a cosy bonfire while watching the sky, far from the city lights.
Northern lights photography
Our guides photograph the aurora and help you with your own camera settings. Photos can be purchased and downloaded after the tour.
Return to Tromsø
After roughly 6 hours, we head back to the city centre, hopefully with the northern lights in your memory card.

Description

Join us for an evening Northern Lights chase from Tromsø.

We drive away from the city lights to areas where the conditions are best for seeing the Northern Lights. The exact route depends on the weather and Aurora forecast on the evening of the tour.

During the trip, you can enjoy hot drinks, dinner and a campfire. Our guides will tell you more about the Northern Lights, including the science behind them and some of the stories and myths connected to the Aurora.

If we see the lights, your guide will take photos of you. They can also help you get the best photos with your own camera or phone.

Good to know

Minimum age: 6 years
Meeting point: Kaigata 2B, 9008 Tromsø. Please meet 30 minutes before departure.
Bring your ID or passport.
Duration: Approx. 6–8 hours
What to wear: Dress warmly in layers. Winter shoes, a hat and gloves are recommended.
The Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon, so sightings cannot be guaranteed.
